Getting Your Home Live

Before your vacation rental can go live, there are a few required steps to ensure your Fairly account is complete, your payout method is verified, and your home is ready to welcome guests. These requirements help protect your property, streamline operations, and deliver the best experience for guests.

Enter Home Details

To make your listing visible to guests, you must complete all required home details in the Listings tab of your Fairly account. Incomplete information prevents your home from going live.

  • Check the top of the Listings tab to see which fields are incomplete.
  • Scroll through the tab — any required details are highlighted in red.
  • Be sure to include accurate descriptions, amenities, and high-quality photos.

Set Up Payout Method

To receive guest payouts, you must verify your identity and enter your bank account information. This ensures payments are properly processed once guests check out.

  • In your Fairly account, click your name in the upper-right corner.
  • Select Payout Method & Taxes.
  • Enter your banking details and confirm your identity to activate your payout setup.

Payout setup is required before your listing can go live.

Choose a Caretaker

Every Blue Heron home must have a verified caretaker assigned before going live. This caretaker manages cleaning and helps ensure your property is properly maintained between stays.

  • Visit the Caretakers tab in Fairly.
  • Select or invite a caretaker and confirm their cleaning fee.
  • Agree on a start date for service.

Going Live

Once all requirements are met, you can set your listing to live status from the Today page in Fairly.

  • It may take up to 24 hours for your listing to appear on booking channels like Airbnb or Vrbo.
  • In the meantime, ensure your home and caretaker are fully prepared to host guests.

Final Pre-Live Checklist

  • Check your calendar: Verify availability. Block out personal-use dates to avoid cancellations, which may incur channel fees.
  • Confirm home readiness: Walk through your home using the Inventory Checklist to ensure all essentials are stocked and in good condition.
  • Notify your caretaker: Let them know your listing is now accepting reservations so they can begin monitoring new bookings and guest communications.

Following these steps ensures your home launches smoothly and is positioned for success from day one.
